Antoine Semenyo achieves World Cup debut & £10.5M Transfer

A proud moment for everyone at ASC Ltd/Wiltshire Football Academy, as ex BTEC student Antoine Semenyo stepped out at the World Cup Finals for Ghana. Antoine featured in 2 of Ghana’s group matches against Portugal and Uruguay, where he saw his late shot drift narrowly past the post. It was a dream come true for Antoine to be playing on the same pitch as players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, Luis Suarez and Darwin Nunez.

Antoine’s rise throughout the game has been astonishing:

2016 – Wiltshire Football Academy BTEC Scholarship.
2017 – Signed a 2 year professional contract with Bristol City FC.
2017 – Loaned to Bath City FC, making 16 appearances, scoring 6 goals.
2017/18 – Made his Bristol City FC debut on the final day of the season
2018/19 – Loaned to Newport County FC, 32 appearances, 6 goals.
2019 – Signed a new 4 year deal with Bristol City FC
2019/20 – Loaned to Sunderland FC, 7 appearances, 0 goals.
2021/22 – Named Bristol City FC Player of the Year.
January 2022 – Won EFL Championship Player of the Month Award.
June 2022 – Debut for the Ghana National Squad
December 2022 – Played in the World Cup Finals in Qatar
January 2023 – £10.5 million transfer to AFC Bournemouth
